I consider Woody Mountain more of a campground than a RV park, which is what we prefer. We stayed for 9 days/8 nights. It is rustic, with soil/cinder sites, and it is forested. This was our base for exploring Flagstaff, Oak Creek Canyon, Sedona, the Grand Canyon, Walnut Canyon, Sunset Crater, and Wupatki National Monument. We will make it a point to stay here again when we are in Flagstaff.

The staff at this park is extremely helpful and friendly. One of the best. Having said that, the park and amenities are also very nice. We reserved a back-in site which was a little short for a 30' trailer and tow vehicle, making it neccessary to unhook the truck and park it at an angle. We will make it a point to stay at this park again, but we will reserve a pull-through site. The rate indicated was for a back-in site with Good Sam discount.

Nice campground with level sites. The site was long enough that we did not need to unhook. Staff was cheerful and helpful. We will stay at this park again. The rate reflects Good Sam discount.

This park has gravel/grass pads that need some leveling. The roads in the park also had some pretty bad potholes that were hard to miss. Water/Electric are at one end of the site and sewer on the other end. My water hose was fully extended and I had to couple two sewer hoses together to reach the sewer drain. There were two other RVs in the park our first two nights there (a weekend)and we were the only RV there our last night. Next time, if we are unable to stay in the State Park, we will stay in the town of Canyon and drive to Palo Duro Canyon.
